I graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with MS and PhD degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering. I also have degrees in Psychology from Eckerd College and San Diego State University.
Science and Technology Background
I worked in the federal government as a systems engineer and cognitive performance researcher. In that time, In that time, I led research projects in human factors, decision-making, and automation.
I taught for over 12 years as both an adjunct instructor and visiting professor in the University of San Diego School of Engineering.
These days, I do science outreach presentations as a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador.
I served as a Naval Flight Officer in both active and reserve units of the Navy, finishing my military career as Commanding Officer of Fighter Squadron 301.
